anbi app update popup, check the store developer line
When an update popup appears inside the app, do not tap update straight away; open the store detail page and compare the developer line and version number first.
When anbi shows an in-app update popup, open the store detail page and match the developer line to your installed copy before updating.

Key points
Note where the popup came from
An in-app popup only says a new version exists; it does not prove the store carries it. Write down the version number shown, then look for the same line in the store.
Compare the developer line
Open the store detail page and read the developer name field. Compare it letter by letter with the name you installed under; one extra or missing letter is enough to stop.
Compare version and date
The version number on the detail page should match the popup, and the update date should be recent. A date stuck months back while you are pushed to update is a reason to wait.
Update from the store, not the popup
Once both lines match, go back to the store and use its update button. Do not follow the popup straight to a download, where the developer field is not visible.
Common questions
The popup shows a newer version than the store page, can I install it anyway?
No. If the store detail page does not list that version, wait until the same number appears there.
What if the store search returns no app with that name?
Check the developer line on your installed copy, then search the store by developer name instead of app name; if both fail, hold off.
